Are You Picking Up What God Is Putting Down?

We pray for signs all the time.
“God, show me what to do.”
“God, open the right door.”
“God, give me a word.”

But sometimes, the sign is already there—
sitting quietly in plain sight while we’re waiting for something louder, bigger, or flashier.

What if God isn’t holding out on us?
What if He’s simply waiting for us to notice?

When the Answers Don’t Look Like Answers

There’s a pattern I’ve noticed in my own life:
God moves, but rarely the way I imagined.

The job that didn’t work out ended up protecting my peace.
The delay that frustrated me became the space I needed to heal.
The door that closed forced me to walk toward something better.

It’s not that God stopped speaking; it’s that I wasn’t listening for His tone.
Sometimes the miracle doesn’t show up with a bang—
it unfolds with a whisper.

A New Thing, Already in Motion

“See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
— Isaiah 43:19

That verse always catches me.
God isn’t saying I will do a new thing—He says I am doing it now.

Right this second, He’s weaving threads you can’t yet see.
The question isn’t if He’s working,
but whether your eyes are open to it.

Maybe the breakthrough you’ve been begging for is already underway.
Maybe the “waiting” is actually the becoming.

Everyday Signs of His Hand

God’s reminders rarely arrive with neon lights.

Sometimes it’s a verse you “happen” to read twice in one week.
A conversation that hits deeper than you expected.
A sense of peace that shows up in the middle of uncertainty.

If we rush past these small moments,
we miss the joy of realizing He’s been here all along—
putting down breadcrumbs of grace for us to pick up one by one.

Sometimes the miracle isn’t new provision.
It’s new perception.

My Question for You

So today I’ll ask again:
Are you picking up what God is putting down?

Where might He already be at work—
in the detour, the delay, or the quiet moment you almost dismissed?

What if the thing you’re waiting for is already right at your feet?

A Simple Prayer

Lord, open my eyes to what You’re already doing.
Slow my steps so I don’t miss Your gentle invitations.
Teach me to trust that Your movement doesn’t need my permission—
only my attention.
Amen.
