Are You Willing to Say Yes?

Sometimes the next chapter of your life doesn’t begin with clarity.
It begins with courage.
It begins in that holy, trembling moment when God invites you into something bigger than you feel ready for — and you have a choice to make. Not after everything makes sense. Not after the timing feels perfect. Right now, in the middle of uncertainty.
That’s where Episode 11 begins: with the incredibly human, incredibly costly, incredibly courageous “yes” of Mary — a teenage girl from a small town with everything to lose and no guarantees.
The Yes That Changed Everything
Before Christmas ever became Christmas, before angels sang or shepherds ran, Mary was just a young girl living an ordinary life. Engaged, but not yet married. Vulnerable. Unprotected. With a reputation that could be destroyed in a single moment.
And yet — this is who God chooses.
Not the one with perfect circumstances.
Not the one with power or status.
Not the one whose life was set up for easy obedience.
God chose the one with a willing heart.
When the angel appeared and told her she would carry the Son of God, Mary had a thousand reasons to say no:
What will Joseph think?
What will my parents think?
What will the synagogue say?
Who will believe me?
What will this cost me?
Her yes wasn’t safe.
Her yes wasn’t celebrated.
Her yes didn’t make sense.
But her yes was surrender.
And her yes changed the world.
The Part We Don’t Talk About Enough
We often celebrate Mary’s obedience — but we skip over the very real fear she must have felt.
Because saying yes to God is rarely clean or convenient.
Sometimes your yes leads you straight into uncertainty.
Sometimes it invites misunderstanding.
Sometimes it places you right in the middle of what you hoped God would spare you from.
Episode 11 reminds us that obedience is holy… but it is not always comfortable.
And that’s exactly why her story matters so much.
Where This Gets Personal
Maybe you’re standing in your own “Mary moment.”
Maybe God has whispered something to you — a direction, a change, a calling — and on the surface, it feels unreasonable. Risky. Poorly timed. Misunderstood. Inconvenient. Uncomfortable. Or just flat-out scary.
You want to obey…
but the cost feels real.
You want to trust…
but the path looks foggy.
You want to say yes…
but fear is sitting right beside you.
Episode 11 is your reminder that God isn’t looking for perfection.
He’s looking for willingness.
“I Am the Lord’s Servant.”
Mary’s response in Luke 1:38 is simple and stunning:
“I am the Lord’s servant.
May Your word to me be fulfilled.”
She didn’t say yes because she understood everything.
She said yes because she trusted the One who asked.
Her courage wasn’t the absence of fear —
it was obedience in spite of it.
And that’s where your story and Mary’s intersect.
Not at clarity.
But at surrender.
Your Turn: What Is God Asking of You?
If you sit with this question long enough —
Are you willing to say yes? —
you might feel something stir.
A dream you’ve been afraid to revisit.
A step you’ve been delaying.
A conversation you’ve been avoiding.
A calling that feels too heavy for the season you’re in.
But here’s the truth:
Your yes doesn’t have to be loud.
It doesn’t have to be confident.
It doesn’t have to be perfect.
It just has to be surrendered.
Because obedience is never wasted.
And God never asks you to carry something He hasn’t already prepared you for.
A Question to Carry Into Your Week
Where in your life is God inviting you to trust Him?
Where is He asking you to obey — even without all the details?
And what could happen…
what might God unfold…
if you were willing to say yes?
Because Mary’s yes changed the world.
And so will yours.
