Do You Trust God?

Do You Trust God?
A quiet reflection on fear, faith, and letting go.
There are seasons when fear shows up out of nowhere.
When your heart races, your thoughts spiral, and you can’t seem to find steady ground—no matter how hard you pray.
That’s where I found myself a few years ago.
Every ache felt like a symptom.
Every quiet moment turned into worry.
And when the doctors said everything looked fine, I still couldn’t rest.
I was doing everything I knew to do… but peace was missing.
Then, in one of those sleepless nights, a question rose up in my spirit—gentle but unmistakable:
“Do you trust Me?”
It wasn’t loud.
It wasn’t condemning.
It was the kind of question that gets under your defenses and finds the truth.
And deep down, I realized I didn’t fully trust Him.
A second whisper followed:
“You must trust.”
Not a suggestion, but a loving command.
Almost like God was saying, This is how you make it through. This is the way forward.
When Trust Becomes Your Anchor
That moment drew me back to a verse someone had spoken over me long before—
2 Timothy 1:7:
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
That became my anchor.
Every time fear tried to take over, I came back to that truth and asked again: Do I trust God?
And slowly, peace returned—not because my circumstances changed, but because I did.
The Word reminds us again and again:
-
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Prov 3:5-6)
-
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” (Isa 26:3)
-
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” (Ps 56:3)
Trust doesn’t erase the storm.
It changes how you walk through it.
Maybe Your Story Looks Different
Maybe your struggle isn’t anxiety.
Maybe it’s finances.
A relationship.
A decision that keeps you awake at night.
Or that subtle fear that everything might fall apart if you stop holding it all together.
Whatever it is, the question underneath might be the same:
Do you trust God?
A Question to Carry Into the Week
Trusting God isn’t just for the moments when life feels easy.
It’s for the moments when your grip tightens and your faith feels smaller than your fear.
Write the question somewhere you’ll see it:
Do I trust God?
Let it interrupt your stress.
Let it slow your breathing.
Let it speak louder than the spiral.
You don’t need all the answers today.
You just need a little more trust.
Journal This
Where in my life am I relying on control instead of trust?
Sit with that question.
Not to judge yourself—but to invite clarity.
And if it resonates, share your thoughts with me.
This space isn’t just about listening; it’s about growing, together.
