What If One Question Could Change Your Direction?

What If One Question Could Change Your Direction?

What if the change you’ve been hoping for doesn’t begin with an answer… but with a question?

That’s the heartbeat of this very first episode of My Question for You. It’s where the journey begins—with one quiet question that stopped me in my tracks and invited me to trust God in a deeper way.

For me, that moment came on an ordinary night. I was lying awake, thoughts racing, trying to hold everything together on my own. On the outside, I looked fine. But inside, I was exhausted. And right in the middle of that mental noise, one simple question rose up in my spirit:
“Do you trust Me?”

That question didn’t change my circumstances—it changed me.
It shifted my focus from striving to surrender, from panic to peace. It reminded me that believing in God isn’t the same as trusting Him. Trust requires letting go. It’s not about having all the answers, but resting in the One who does.

Scripture is full of moments like this—when God asks questions that reach past the surface.
In Genesis 3, after Adam and Eve hide in shame, God doesn’t begin with punishment. He begins with a question: “Where are you?”
And in John 5, Jesus meets a man who’s been waiting 38 years for healing. Before performing a miracle, He asks: “Do you want to be well?”

God’s questions aren’t for His information. They’re for our transformation.

So maybe this week, take a moment to sit with your own question.
What might God be asking you right now?

Do you trust Me?
What are you carrying that I’ve already promised to hold?
Why are you afraid?
Where are you hiding?

You don’t have to rush to answer. Let the question sit with you. Let it whisper in the quiet moments of your day. Because sometimes, one well-placed question can change everything.

As you move through your week, here’s something to write down and reflect on:

What am I still trying to control that God has already promised to carry?

Pause with that. See what rises to the surface. And if this reflection speaks to you, I’d love to hear from you - share your thoughts or message me at www.myquestionforyou.com.

When you visit, you can also download the free Reflection Guide to take this week’s question deeper. It’s a simple way to pause, journal, and invite God into your week.

Because sometimes, one question really can change your direction.
