What are you believing—and how do you know it’s true?
Deception doesn’t always sound like an obvious lie.
Sometimes it contains just enough truth that we don’t stop to question the rest.
In Part 2 of Behind Enemy Lines, we’re looking at one of the enemy’s oldest strategies: deception.
We’ll go back to Genesis 3 and look at the serpent’s first conversation with Eve. He doesn’t begin by completely inventing something God never said. He takes God’s words and shifts them just enough to change how Eve sees God.
Then we’ll head into the wilderness with Jesus, where Satan does something that should get every believer’s attention:
He quotes Scripture.
The words are biblical—but he uses them to lead Jesus somewhere God never told Him to go.
So how do we recognize the difference between something that sounds spiritual and something that’s actually true?
And what happens when disappointment, fear, or something we’ve heard repeatedly begins shaping what we believe about God?
This week’s question:
What are you believing?
