What Are You Holding Up? | The Shield of Faith Explained

The shield of faith may seem like one of the most obvious pieces of the Armor of God.

A shield protects you. Faith protects you. Simple enough.

But in Ephesians 6, Paul says something more specific.

The shield of faith doesn’t just block the arrows.

It extinguishes them.

So why are the arrows on fire?

In this episode of My Question for You, we’re continuing our SUITED UP series by slowing down and taking a fresh look at the shield of faith.

We’ll explore what Paul’s picture of flaming arrows might teach us about the way faith actually works, why faith isn’t a promise that nothing difficult will ever reach us, and what Abraham shows us about trusting God when the outcome is still uncertain.

Because sometimes the greatest danger isn’t only what hits us.

It’s what we allow that moment to ignite.

The arrow may hit the shield. It doesn’t have to set your life on fire.

So this week’s question is:

What are you holding up?
