What’s Holding You Together? | The Belt of Truth Explained

Season 4 of My Question for You: Wisdom for Your Walk continues with SUITED UP, our series taking a fresh look at the armor of God—not just what each piece represents, but what it actually looks like to wear it.

This week, we’re looking at the first piece Paul names in Ephesians 6:

The belt of truth.

If you’ve heard about the armor of God before, you probably already know that the belt represents truth.

But have you ever wondered why Paul starts there?

A soldier secured his belt before he moved into action. And that gives us a very practical way to think about truth in our own lives.

Because something can happen, and within moments we can go from what happened to deciding what it means about God.

The prayer hasn’t been answered... so maybe God isn’t listening.

The door closed... so maybe God isn’t leading.

The situation changed... so maybe what we believed about God needs to change too.

But what happened and what we decide it means are not always the same thing.

In this episode, we’re exploring what it means to put on the belt of truth when life leaves us with questions, why truth doesn’t require us to have all the answers, and how to slow down before our circumstances start defining God for us.

So, before you react, assume or move forward:

Secure the truth.

And ask yourself:

What actually happened?
What am I assuming because it happened?
What do I know to be true about God?

This week’s question:

What’s holding you together?

📖 Scripture: Ephesians 6:10–18; John 17:17
