What’s Protecting Your Mind? | The Helmet of Salvation Explained

Why does salvation go on your head?

We’re continuing our SUITED UP series through the Armor of God, and this week we’ve reached the helmet of salvation.

At first, the connection seems obvious: a helmet protects your head, so salvation protects your mind.

But is there more to it than that?

In Ephesians 6, Paul simply tells us to “take the helmet of salvation.” But in 1 Thessalonians, he uses the image again and adds an interesting phrase:

“the hope of salvation.”

That one word—hope—gives us a fresh way to think about what this helmet may be protecting.

In this episode, we’re looking at what salvation reminds us about where God is taking this story, why Christian hope is different from simply believing things will get better, and how remembering what’s ahead can change the way we see where we are right now.

Because sometimes we need the reminder:

Where you are right now is not where the story ends.

So this week’s question is:

What’s protecting your mind?
