After spending an entire series learning how to recognize the enemy, there’s one thing we don’t want to do:
Spend all our time looking at him.
In the final episode of Behind Enemy Lines, we turn to 2 Kings 6 and the story of Elisha’s servant, who wakes up to discover an enemy army surrounding the city.
What he sees is real.
But it isn’t the whole story.
Sometimes spiritual awareness can quietly become spiritual preoccupation. We start analyzing every setback, every conflict and every difficult moment, wondering what the enemy might be doing.
But recognizing the enemy was never supposed to make us obsessed with him.
So this week’s question is:
Where are your eyes?
We’ll talk about what it means to acknowledge the battle without allowing it to become the center of our attention—and why faith doesn’t require us to pretend the enemy isn’t there. It reminds us that the enemy isn’t all that’s there.
And as we close Behind Enemy Lines, we’ll also look ahead to where we’re going next: moving from recognizing the battle to understanding what God has given us to fight it.
Scripture: 2 Kings 6:8–17; Ephesians 6:10–18
